The 27th Annual National Night Out will be celebrated throughout the United States on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event that is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
To find out about events happening in your neighborhood, please contact your Homeowners Association (HOA). If you are hosting a National Night Out event and would like a police officer to attend, please contact Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Gaema Obenchain at 510-799-8263.
