On Friday, August 6, 2010 Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers will team up with the Kalamazoo Kings for the third annual baseball clinic. This clinic is open to the public, any boy or girl between the ages of 10-15 yrs are able to participate these young men and women will be instructed by KDPS personnel along with Kalamazoo Kings Baseball players on various fundamentals and techniques of the game.
This event will be a fun filled day for area youth and their families. The day will begin with the Baseball Clinic for the kids, followed by presentations by the Public Safety SWAT team, K-9 team, Bomb Squad team, and the Hazardous Materials response team. At 7:00 pm the participants and their families will be admitted FREE to an exciting Kalamazoo Kings vs. Windy City Thunderbolts game, and then the night wraps up with a fireworks display sponsored by the Kings.
Registration for this event filled day begins at noon at Mayors Park with the clinic running from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Participants will be treated to lunch by Bill Wright, then at 5:30 p.m. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Specialty Teams will be making various presentations, followed by the Kalamazoo Kings vs. Windy City Thunderbolts game starting at 7:00 p.m, then the Fireworks.
As Bill Wright stated, “This is what the Kings are all about. I couldn’t be more proud to work with the men and women of Public Safety. They do great things for this community and its youth.”
