BURGLARY ARREST
One individual has been arrested and charged with burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Casey John Stancil, 35, of Albertville, was arrested and charged with one count of third degree burglary, which is a felony,” states Investigator Shane Hartley.
Stancil broke into a residence on Shady Grove Road in Altoona on July 7th. The back door to the residence had been forced open; however, no items were reported missing from the house.
During the course of the investigation, Investigator Hartley received anonymous tip that Stancil had broken into the residence.
After alerting area law enforcement agencies that he was searching for Stancil, Investigator Hartley was notified by a Guntersville Police Officer that Stancil was in the Albertville City Jail.
While interviewing Stancil, he admitted to breaking into the residence, saying he was high on drugs and was looking for a house to burglarize. He also stated that once the security alarm sounded, he fled the scene and took nothing from the residence.
Stancil is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail, awaiting extradition to Etowah County.
