Recent Burglaries, Warrants and Arrests

Garland County has been, what we call, “getting hit hard” with burglaries over the last couple of months.

Our investigative staff has been working non-stop developing leads and suspects and our patrol division has been helping develop those leads and suspects by making numerous traffic stops, on suspect vehicles, in an attempt to identify potential suspects.

In the last two weeks, Patrolman Phil Fisher has been able to locate 2 such suspicious vehicles, on two separate occasions and, as a result, made five arrests which led to the recovery of stolen property from county and city residents.

Due to the traffic stops conducted by Deputy Fisher and other patrolmen our investigative division, assisted by the Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team, investigators from the Hot Springs Police Department and 18th East Drug Task Force, has obtained and executed three search warrants and have recovered additional stolen property.

The three search warrants, executed over a 24 hour period, netted an assortment of approximately 100 stolen items, including 27 firearms, numerous electronic items, a Kubota tractor, pick-up truck and two riding mowers.

Due to the fact that several firearms had been reported stolen in some of the burglaries, the Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team was utilized to make entry into, and secure, the homes where the Search Warrants were served.

These items will be displayed at the Sheriff’s Department throughout the week for possible owner identification. We ask that anyone who wishes to view these items contact the investigator working their case and set-up a date and time for the viewing. Walk-ins will not be allowed without an appointment!
