Mayor Rawlings-Blake Orders Extended Pool Hours to Help Beat the Heat
Park Pools and Walk-to pools will operate on extended schedule today and tomorrow.
BALTIMORE, MD. (July 24, 2010)-Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the decision to extended City pool hours for Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25, 2010 to assist City residents during the unprecedented heat wave affecting the mid-Atlantic region.
City Park Pools that normally close at 7:00 p.m. will reopen at 7:30 p.m. and stay open to 9:00 p.m., and City Walk-To Pools that normally close at 5:00 p.m., will reopen at 5:30 p.m. and stay open to 7:30 p.m. on both days.
"I would like to thank the Department of Recreation and Parks for working quickly to implement extended hours today," Mayor Rawlings-Blake said. "With these new hours in place, families will have an opportunity to have fun and stay cool."
