Sheriff Sanders says that Burglary suspects arrested and property returned to owners during search warrants this week
Garland County has been, what we call “getting hit hard” with burglaries. My investigative staff has been working non stop trying to develop leads and suspects.
My patrol division has also been alert for suspicious activities and has been responding to calls as quick as possible. In the last two weeks, Patrolman Phil Fisher has done an excellent job with his observations when calls have come in and he was able to locate suspicious vehicles on two separate occasions and a result, made five arrests which lead to the recovery of stolen property from county and city residents. Since that time, my investigative division has followed up with two search warrants and has recovered additional stolen property. Due to the fact that several firearms have been reported stolen in some of the burglaries, the Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team has been utilized to make entry into the homes where the Search Warrants were served. My investigators have also been working close with the Hot Springs Police Department Detectives and the 18th East Drug Task Force.
I would like to commend all of the officers involved.
I would also like to remind Garland County citizens that burglaries and thefts will continue. This is a good time to remind all of us, to record serial numbers on all of our valuables and even take pictures of items for identification purposes.
Also, watch for suspicious activities in your neighborhoods and immediately report to law enforcement.
