DRUG CHARGES
An individual previously charged with murder and abuse of a corpse is back in jail on drug charges, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“38 year-old Shawne Rust Farrar has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, which is a felony, and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, both are misdemeanors,” states Sheriff Entrekin.
Etowah County Sheriff’s Office investigators and Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant Monday evening at Farrar’s residence, located at 39 Pine Road in the Whorton Bend community.
“I am glad to see him back in custody at the jail. This is where he needs to be until his court date,” Sheriff Entrekin said. “It is obvious Farrar was continuing to endanger lives with drugs. We hope to speed up the judicial process to have him tried for the original charges of murder and abuse of a corpse.”
Farrar was charged in May 2009 in connection to the death of 22 year-old Nita Michelle Clayborn of Boaz. He was released on bond in June 2009
Farrar is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
