Several Pounds of Drugs and a Stash of Weapons Seized By Drug Task Force

Modesto, CA- Narcotic agents from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies took part in a long term drug investigation that led to several arrests and the seizure of drugs and weapons. Five adults are now facing federal charges, which range from conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, to drug trafficking.

Investigators from Stanislaus County Drug Enforcement Agency (SDEA), Central Valley California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (CAL-MMET), United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) participated in a 3-month long drug investigation. Investigators developed information that a group of individuals were trafficking methamphetamine drugs from Southern California and distributing the drugs in the Central Valley.

Agents were able to identify several individuals involved in this drug ring and on July 14th, investigators served four separate search warrants in Modesto and Ceres area. The result of the service of the search warrant led to the seizure of 10 lbs. of crystal methamphetamine and the confiscation of 9 firearms.

“This was a joint operation that was made successful due to the cooperation and partnerships between all of the agencies involved,” said Lieutenant Dave Sundy, who is the commander of the regional drug task force.

Arrested were: Jose Valencia-Mendoza 10-30-80, Renee Rangel Calderon 01-11-86, Juan Sebastian Kansino-Birrueta 03-10-85, Donaciano Rosales-Magana 06-25-75, and Martin Guizar Sanchez 02-26-69. All were residents of the Modesto/Ceres area. The suspects were booked in the Fresno County Jail and will be federally prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Eastern District of California in Fresno.
