WESTERN LANE COUNTY’S NEW RESIDENT DEPUTY JOINS FLORENCE POLICE CHIEF FOR “COFFEE WITH THE CHIEF”
The Florence Police Department will be holding a “Coffee with the Chief” at the Florence Municipal Airport Office on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. Lane County Deputy Kerry Boggs will be joining Chief Maurice Sanders in this opportunity for informal conversation between the community and its law enforcement. Deputy Boggs was recently assigned to be the West Lane Resident Deputy as part of a recent award of federal grants to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
With the addition of a Resident Deputy to provide law enforcement public safety services to those who live outside of the City of Florence, but still in the sphere of influence of Florence, this is an excellent opportunity for the public to present questions and provide their thought and comments on contemporary local law enforcement issues.
Deputy Boggs is a 24 year veteran of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. He has worked a variety of assignments over the years of his service to Lane County. As a local resident of the Florence community with his wife and family, he is extremely knowledgeable of the area and members of the community. Deputy Boggs is looking forward to his new assignment in being able to respond to the public safety needs to those in the unincorporated areas of West Lane County.
