Possession of drugs and firearm, possession of meth, possession of a firearm by certain persons.

On Thursday the 8th of July 2010 at about 2:30 pm I stopped a gold Dodge truck for having expired vehicle license of 6/10. I identified the driver by drivers’ license as Emory Kendrick 11-22-1969.
I knew him from past dealings with him as people around him are associated with drugs and drug use. I have also seen his identification on a web site that shows when a person buys ephedrine and how often etc. He has purchased so much in the past that he could not buy any more in a month’s time.
I asked him to step from the vehicle and told him that I was going to legally search as far as I am allowed then ask for consent to search further. He stated “why don’t I just tell you where the dope is”. I said that would be great. He in fact showed me an old eyeglass case that had several needles and a baggie of off white powder.
I also located under the console of the truck a Browning .380 caliber semi automatic pistol that had the clip loaded but not one in the chamber, and another black zippered pouch that had many more needles in it. Kendrick was arrested at this point and placed in the unit.
A person was allowed to come get a dog that was with him and the vehicle was impounded to Burks and Mahoney. Mr. Kendrick also shows to be convicted of a burglary from 1996 making him a felon. The suspected meth was field tested at the office and showed a positive result for meth.
Charges: Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearm, possession of meth, possession of a firearm by certain persons.
