The Polk County Sheriff's Office advises motorists to AVOID I-4 between Highway 27 and Mile Marker 50 due to a multiple vehicle crash. The PCSO was notified at approximately 4:35pm of the multiple car crash and responded to assist with traffic control.
Florida Highway Patrol officers are on scene with PCSO deputies in the area to assist. Westbound traffic is reduced to one lane.
Traffic congestion remains heavy with traffic backed up approximately 6 miles on the westbound lanes. Traffic has been reduced to one lane westbound. If possible, motorists should avoid the area. Eastbound traffic has also been slowed with traffic backed up eastbound until Champion's Gate area.
