The Napa County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the theft of solar panels from a winery in the Rutherford area. The theft occurred in the early morning hours of 09/21/09.

The vineyard had approximately 25 panels stolen with an approximate value of $30,000.00. This is the 17th reported theft of solar panels in Napa County since January 2008. The 17 thefts include two that occurred in the City of Napa and one at Napa Valley College.

We are asking the public to be vigilant about suspicious persons or vehicles and contact Napa Dispatch at 707-253-4451 with a location and description of the suspicious vehicles or persons. The majority of the thefts are occurring late at night and in the early morning hours in rural areas of Napa County.
