July 4th Weekend/Safety is a Blast

As the 4th of July holiday weekend approaches, the Walnut Creek Police Department would like to remind residents to celebrate responsibly. The weekend is supposed to bring hot weather, which will increase the possibility of heat related injuires and fire dangers. Please remember to drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activities during peak tempatures.

The Walnut Creek Police Department would also like to remind residents that Fireworks are prohibited in Contra Costa County. Those found in possession of fireworks are subject to a citation and fines. With the increased fire dangers this weekend, fireworks could pose a real threat to safety.

Officers will be patrolling and keeping a sharp eye out for DUI drivers. Please use a designated driver or a taxi cab. Officers will have a zero tolerance for alcohol related offenses and encourages everyone to be responsible.
