The Mercersburg Police Department is warning Mercersburg residents of the following driveway resealing scam that is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police:

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg, PA reports they are investigating a Theft by Deception that involved a white male suspect providing an asphalt resealing services to the victim’s driveway in Guilford Township, Franklin County.

The resealing was done poorly and the suspect requested additional money for the service that was not negotiated prior to performing the service.

The suspect only wanted cash and left no identification. Suspect was seen with a 8-10 year old boy and used a yellow work truck with no ID on the truck. The truck had a light bar on its roof.

Mercersburg residents should be careful of door to door sales persons. Residents living within the Mercersburg Borough limits should always ask door to door sales persons to produce the certification from Mercersburg Borough showing that they have registered with the Borough.
