New Law which comes into effect on July 1, 2010 (this Thursday) which prohibits texting while driving. You can still use your cell phone to make phone calls (where there is no city / township ordinance prohibiting this). Penalty for texting while driving is $100 for the first offense; and $200 for the second offense. Please educate your teenagers who drive about the new law.

The City of Memphis allows the use of cellular phone in the City limits; so you are welcome to talk on the cell phone while driving, however no texting starting this Thursday.

Thank you for your cooperation, this law will save lives!!!
