This information was provided to MFD by SBRoads.com Friday afternoon, so many of you have already driven northbound 101 to see the new lane between Hot Springs/Cabrillo and Salinas.

Hwy 101 Improvements between Milpas St. and Hot Springs Rd. Project Update: June 27 - July 10, 2010

Planned Work Activities (depending on weather):

• Northbound Hwy 101 merge lane now open between Cabrillo Blvd. & Salinas St.

• Southbound and northbound Hwy 101 fast lane nighttime closures as needed July 5 - 8, 9pm - 6am, to move pile driving equipment between Milpas St. and Cabrillo Blvd.; daytime pile driving continues for Sycamore Creek bridge

• Milpas St. under Hwy 101 and Hwy 101 off-ramp to south Milpas St. closed at night as needed for bridge work; drivers can use the new Hwy 101 hook off-ramp and the Mason, Quarantina, and Cacique Sts. detour

• Montecito: traffic signal at Cabrillo Blvd. and Hwy 101 off-ramps will be functional as of July 5th; to acclimate drivers to the new signal, the signal will flash red while crews finish up electrical work, flagmen will be in the area as needed

• Montecito roundabout sign improvements; flagmen in the area as needed on June 28th
