Grosse Pointe Farms Dept of Public Safety hopes everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer. Here are a few quick safety reminders:

1) If you are leaving for a vacation this summer please contact the police department so that you can be added to our "Vacation Watch List". Providing emergency contact information, light timer information, key holder names, and when you are returning will help us greatly should we have to respond to your residence when you are away.

2) Pier Park locker room. If utilizing the lockers at the Pier Park please remember to bring a lock. Every summer season there are unfortunate larceny’s that occurred. The police department will be conducting daily patrols of the park on foot and on bike to help curtail any of this behavior.

3) Warmer weather brings out criminal opportunists at all hours of the day. These subjects are looking for unlocked vehicles, open garage doors, unsecured property. Please call the police at the first sign of suspicious behavior.

4) Power equipment hours of operation. Noisy equipment (large power tools, construction equipment) is limited to the hours of 7:00am to 9:00pm (or dusk) whichever is earlier. Monday thru Saturday throughout the year.
