City of Apache Junction Invites Public to Review US Department of Justice Grant Application

Apache Junction, Arizona………..........………………………………June 3, 2010

The City of Apache Junction anticipates receiving $17,625 in Fiscal Year 2010 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Program Local Solicitation (“Byrne JAG”) grant funds from the United States Department of Justice.

The Apache Junction Police Department proposes to use these funds for the acquisition of three electronic ticketing packages including handheld computer, wireless printer, software and peripherals.

The Byrne JAG grant application for these funds will be submitted to the Department of Justice by June 30, 2010. A hard copy of the application is available for review during normal business hours (Monday –Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM) from June 1, 2010 to June 15, 2010 at the following locations:

• Apache Junction Development Services Department (Revenue Development Program)

The City Council will conduct a public hearing regarding this matter at the following time:

• Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Regularly scheduled City Council Meeting

Apache Junction, Arizona 85119

Members of the general public will be able to comment upon this proposed project during this meeting. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the City Council will decide whether or not to submit this project for Byrne JAG funding.
