Police pounce on girl fight at Belleville East
News-Democrat
A fight as Belleville East High School was letting out for the summer prompted a large initial response from police.
Three teen girls were taken into custody.
The problem was at about 10:30 a.m. Friday as students left following their last final exam. At least four Belleville police cars and three St. Clair County sheriff's deputies responded to the campus parking lot off West Boulevard. More officers were located off Carlyle Avenue across from the high school.
The problem was quickly contained and other students did not seem to be aware of what caused the disturbance.
