Sheriff’s officials offer East County Sheriff Watch to serve residents in unincorporated areas

Location: Eastern Ventura County

Narrative:

In order to provide a more timely exchange of information with residents in unincorporated areas of Eastern Ventura County, sheriff’s officials have created a virtual neighborhood watch network called East County Sheriff Watch.

The program, which is modeled after the Thousand Oaks City Watch, is designed to target unincorporated neighborhoods, such as Oak Park, Bell Canyon, Lynn Ranch, Casa Conejo and Lake Sherwood.

Residents can subscribe to the program by sending an e-mail to [email protected] . Participants will receive direct e-mail updates about criminal activity, crime trends, press releases and events that may be occurring in their neighborhoods.

“This program allows for greater collaboration between the Sheriff’s Department and the many communities we serve,” said Captain Brent Kerr, who oversees patrol operations for the East County.

“An important aspect of the program is the ability for residents to voice their concerns about criminal activity, traffic conditions, and other quality-of-life issues,” Kerr said.

Anyone with questions about the program can contact Senior Deputy Eric Taylor at (805)494-8274.
