CLICK IT OR TICKET BEGAN ON MAY 25th WITH ZERO TOLERANCE

Motorists will be hard pressed to travel in Harper Woods without seeing signs of Seat Belt Enforcement as the Harper Woods Police Dept begins it's "CLICK IT OR TICKET" campaign. The strict enforcement began on May 24th and ends June 4th.

Michigan law requires all drivers, front seat passengers and all passengers under 16 yrs old, be buckled up.

In 2009, about 50 percent of the 871 victims of traffic fatalities were not wearing seat belts. Wearing a seat belt is still the best defense against even minor injuries. Due to continued non-compliance of some drivers, the Harper Woods Police Dept will be enforcing the law with zero tolerance for excuses.

We hope the $65.00 it will cost you will convince everyone to buckle up. The alternative can cost much more.

Any questions regarding this campaign or any other traffic related questions, please contact the Traffic Safety supervisor, Sgt Jason Hammerle at [email protected] or 313-343-2530.

PLEASE BUCKLE UP, NOT ONLY THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND, BUT ALWAYS, THEY REALLY DO SAVE LIVES.
