BPD Reminds Residents To Secure Their Vehicles and Property To Prevent Burglaries.
The Beecher Police Department would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from plain view when securing their vehicles at anytime of the day or night. On 05/23/10, the police department responded to three incidents of unlocked vehicles being entered and gone through. In all three incidents, items were taken from the vehicles. Beecher Police did arrest a 15-year-old and 16-year-old juvenile in connection with this latest set of burglaries. Police observed the juveniles in the area, the night before and had conducted a field interview on them. After escorting the juveniles home, they left there home without permission and began stealing items from unlocked vehicles. It is imperative that residents lock their vehicles to prevent theft and place items, such as GPS units, laptop computers, and other electronics out of plain view to prevent theft. If anyone see suspicious people or activity, please contact the Beecher Police Department at (708) 946-2341 or dial 9-1-1.
