FOOD RECALL

Quesos Mi Pueblitos of Passaic, NJ is recalling its Mi Pueblito Queso Fresco, 14 oz. round plastic container, with Sell By Date 09/08/09, because it may contain listeria monocytogenes. This is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms, such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and still births among pregnant women.

The product comes in a 14 oz., clear plastic package, with a sell by label dated Sep 08 2009 on top, UPC code 2407710025.
