Possession of Methamphetamine

Kevin B. Halter, 52, 1429 Edgewood Avenue, Chicago Heights, was arrested by Beecher Police on Friday, May 7, 2010 for possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of a methamphetamine precursor. Police observed Halter in the parking lot of the Circle K Shell, 1350 Dixie Highway, in a vehicle acting suspiciously. After speaking with Halter, the officer's suspicions were raised and a subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, 89 grams of methamphetamine and 138 tablets of pseudoephedrine were located in the vehicle. Additionally, several items used in the making of methamphetamine were located in the vehicle, along with material for packaging. The Beecher Police Department was assisted by the Peotone Police Department K-9 unit and deputies from the Will County Sheriff's Department. Halter remains in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility and is being held on $500,000 bond.
