The St. John Police Department wants to alert local businesses and the public regarding the passing of fraudulent checks at a business in our community. On May 11th at approximately 8:00 PM, a heavy set black female in her 30’s, wearing green sweatpants, glasses, tan shirt, and wearing her hair in a long ponytail, attempted to pass a fraudulent check at Walgreens, 9280 Wicker Ave. When the manager was called to approve the check, the suspect then stated she would pay cash for a few items and left the store. Suspect vehicle is a newer model Green SUV with Illinois license plates.
Suspect is wanted in questioning with obtaining approximately $9,000 from area Walgreens since March of this year using fraudulent checks.
