Deputy Nolan Stoyko has been selected as the 2010 Moorpark Kiwanis Officer of the Year. The award is sponsored by the Moorpark Kiwanis Club. Nolan was selected for this award because of his exceptional work product, constant professionalism, and the fact he continually takes great pride in serving the residents of Moorpark. He has been with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years, has worked in the Detention Services and Patrol Services Divisions, and is currently assigned as a traffic motorcycle officer in the City of Moorpark. In addition, Nolan is a Field Training Officer, responsible for training new patrol deputies in his expert field of traffic enforcement and collision investigation, as well as new deputies assigned to traffic enforcement on a motorcycle.
As a traffic enforcement officer, Deputy Stoyko has demonstrated a daily commitment to keeping the roads safe for all motorists who travel in and through the City of Moorpark. He has received advanced training in the investigation of serious and complex traffic collision investigations and diligently answers the call to respond and investigate these life altering incidents. He is also considered an expert in the safe operation of a traffic enforcement motorcycle and is called upon to train new officers assigned to motorcycle duty.
Most importantly, Nolan is a very active law enforcement officer who is contantly seeking ways to improve his skills, and for opportunities to improve the quality of life for the residents in the community he serves. His solid work ethic and positive character are a testiment to the passion he possesses in serving members of his community and the Law Enforcement profession in general.
The combined Kiwanis Clubs of Ventura County will be hosting a dinner banquet at the Ventura Four Points Sheraton on May 28, at 6:00 p.m., to honor high achieving officers throughout Ventura County, including Deputy Nolan Stoyko.
