Many areas of the City have had leaflets left at homes advising that a curb painting service will be in the area soon, offering to paint the residents address on the curb in front of their home for $20.00. The leaflet implies that this service is endorsed by the public safety departments of the City. Residents are instructed to make out checks to the "Wayne County Neighborhood Watch Association".

We wish to advise our residents that there is no non-profit group with that name registered in Wayne County nor does this group have ANY affiliation with the City of Harper Woods. We have not had any requests for solicitation permits by them.

Our recommendation is to avoid using this service as there are questions surrounding the authenticity of its purpose. If you are solicited, please contact the dispatch center and report it, 343.2530.

Residents who participate with this service do so on a voluntary basis; again, the City of Harper Woods is in no way affiliated with this group.
