SUBJECT: Underage Drinking Party

DATE/TIME: 4-24-2010

LOCATION: Brandywine Road residence

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Alisa Martinez, Sgt. Brendan Bruther, Sgt. John Green, Mark Del Tin and Ryan Vaccaro.

ACCUSED: Zachary James Coulas, Age 20 of Ocean Township
Ali Anderson Coulas, Age 18 of Ocean Township

NARRATIVE: On 4/24/2010 at approximately 1:06 am, police received a call from a concerned resident about a loud house party on Brandywine Road. Sgt. Brendan Bruther, Sgt. John Green and Officer Alisa Martinez officers responded to the residence and found a party in progress. Further investigation revealed that the occupants of the house, Zachary James Coulas and Ali Anderson Coulas were hosting a party where underage drinking was taking place.

Officers observed numerous consumed and partially consumed beer cans through out the house. Both occupants were taken into custody for hosting the underage drinking party. Many of the party-goers left the house and fled as officers were trying to conduct the investigation. Officers took two 17-year-old females from Ocean Township and a 17-year-old male from Interlaken into protective custody.

Three other party-goers were issued a township ordinance violation for consuming alcohol on private property while under the legal age. They were identified as Michele E. Petersen ,age 18 of West Long Branch, Dylan D. Kren, age 18 of Ocean Township and Julian T. Solomon, age 18 of Ocean Township. Solomon was subsequently taken into custody on an active warrant for his arrest out of the Ocean Township Municipal court. He was later released on $250.00 bail.

Zachary Coulas and Ali Coulas were each charged with providing a place where alcoholic beverages would be made available to persons under the legal age and each issued a township ordinance violation for consuming alcohol on private property while under the legal age and
violating the noise ordinance. In addition, Ali Coulas was also charged with obstructing a police investigation. They were processed at the Ocean Twp. Police Department and released on a criminal summons.
