BUSINESSES DONATE MONEY TO CRIME STOPPERS; PRESS CONFRENCE PLANNED

Modesto, CA – The owners of two local businesses have pledged to donate a large sum of money to the Modesto area Crime Stoppers program. A press conference will highlight the presentation will take place at 9:30 am on Thursday.

The Modesto area Crime Stoppers has been a highly successful program and is credited for the arrest of over 170 people to date. The program allows people to remain anonymous when providing tips about suspects wanted in a wide array of criminal incidents including murders, rapes, and robberies.

The Crime Stoppers program provides a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those involved in specific crimes and has paid almost $24,000 in rewards to date.

Two local business owners have pledged sizeable cash donations to the Modesto Area Crime Stoppers to ensure that the program can continue to offer the cash rewards necessary to encourage tipsters to come forward with vital crime information. Michael Ruddy Jr. will make the presentation on behalf of Allied Concrete and Supply. The second donation will be made by Protection One, Inc.

The presentation of the checks will occur at 9:30 am on Thursday, August 13th at the Modesto Police Department, 600 10th Street, in the Public Meeting Room (Room 101 of the Modesto Police Administration building). Interim Modesto Police Chief Mike Harden, Sheriff Adam Christianson, and other local leaders have planned to attend the presentation.
