Churches Targeted For Thefts In St. Clair County.

St. Clair County, IL (KTVI-FOX2Now.com) - St. Clair County Sheriffs deputies were investigating a string of thefts Monday night. Victims called the crimes the "lowest of the low".
Church members said three or more churches near Cahokia had been targeted in recent days and the crimes were hurting more than just the churches.
The First Southern Baptist Church in the 2400 block of Donna Drive had been hit at least three times in the past week.
The church has been there for about 50 years. Members said they'd never seen anything like this: a 60,000 BTU air conditioner was gutted; lines cut; only the fan and condenser remained. It could cost the church $1000 or more to replace the unit.
