Fifteenth Annual Theodore Roosevelt Police Award
The Fifteenth Annual Theodore Roosevelt Association, Texas Chapter, Police Award will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at the Jack Evans Police Headquarters Media Conference Room.
In 1920, the United States Congress chartered the Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) in honor of the 26th President. The TRA introduced the first Theodore Roosevelt Association Police Award in the New York City Police Department in 1983. The Texas Chapter of the Theodore Roosevelt Association was organized in December 1995.
Each year, the local TRA-Texas Chapter recognizes a Dallas Police officer who has overcome a life-threatening injury, illness or other overwhelming obstacle and who demonstrates exceptional courage, determination and perseverance while overcoming the adversity, ultimately returning to exemplary service with the department.
Special guests include Chief David Kunkle, members of the Theodore Roosevelt Texas and National Chapter, and the 2010 TRA honoree, Senior Corporal Jeremy Borchardt.
