Please be patient with traffic on Route 106 and Route 140 due to construction and paving. EXPECT DELAYS

The Belmont Police Department asks that you to be patient due to a traffic congestion at the Route 106 / Route 140 area.

Road work, paving and shoulder work in that area has caused significant traffic backups and other issues at times. This includes dump trucks coming in and out of construction area into traffic.

Please watch for, and pay attention to, police officers and flaggers who will get you through as soon as possible.

Please do not drive in shoulders, pass vehicles on the right and pay attention to cone patterns. While driving through this area, please reduce your speed, pay attention, stay off cell phones and be considerate of other drivers.

The Belmont Board of Selectmen have allowed vehicles, including trailer trucks coming off of Route 140 (Depot Street) on to Main Street, to take a right turn at the intersection and head up Concord Street and then take a right to head south on Route 106. This travel is allowed, Monday through Friday only during construction.

Motorists are NOT allowed to go up Main Street and take a left hand turn on to Route 106. Violators will be summonsed by the Belmont Police Department.
