Advisory

Two arrested for entering parked cars.

DATE/TIME: 4-8-2010

LOCATION: Middlebrook Apartment Complex – Garden Drive

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Mathew Guido, Christopher Brady, Jesse Orbach and Detective Mathew Jackiewicz.

ACCUSED: Harold Hoelle, Age 18 of Belmar.
15-year-old male from Belmar.

On 4-8-2010 at approximately 5:47 am, police were called to the Middlebrook Apartment Complex in reference to two males entering parked vehicles. The caller, a resident of the complex who was getting ready to leave for work, spotted the two entering a 2000 Volkswagen and a 2004 Toyota both parked in a lot within the complex off Garden Drive.

The caller provided a description of the two males and the direction they were walking. A short time later, Officer Mathew Guido arrived on scene and located the two males within the complex on Rustic Drive. Further investigation revealed they were in possession of an I-pod, two sets of earphones, a car radio faceplate and prescription drugs belonging to a Garden Drive resident. The two, identified as Harold Hoelle and a 15-year-old male, were subsequently taken into custody and transported to OTPD for further processing. It was then learned that the two entered a total of four unlocked parked vehicles in the complex.

Hoelle was also found to be in possession of marijuana and a pipe commonly used to smoke the marijuana. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Wall Township Municipal Court. Hoelle was charged with four counts of vehicle burglary, three counts of theft, possessing prescription legend drugs, possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana, conspiracy to commit vehicle burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was later taken to Monmouth County Jail on $5,300.00 bail. The 15-year-old was released to a parent pending action in Family court.

This is now the third time in the last couple of weeks where an observant resident has alerted police to criminal activity that resulted in an arrest of the persons involved.

Police are again reminding residents to take extra care in locking their vehicles and parking in a lighted area at night whenever possible. *Also, remove portable electronic devices such as I-pods, Netbooks, Laptops, Digital Cameras and GPS units from the vehicle when parking and leaving the vehicle unattended.
