SUBJECT: Squirrel Road Construction Project between Walton & Featherstone Roads
In May a construction project will begin on Squirrel Road between Walton and Featherstone Roads. Below you will find information regarding the project schedule, road closure, and detour routes.
Project
The City of Auburn Hills Department of Public Works will be reconstructing the sanitary sewers and replacing of the pavement on Squirrel Road between Walton and Featherstone Roads. This is will require portions of Squirrel Road to be closed.
Project Schedule
Project Start: May 2010 Projected End Date: October 2010
Road Closure
Squirrel Road will be closed to ALL traffic between Chrysler Drive and University from May through October. There will be partial closings between University and Walton Road on Squirrel Road with traffic re-routed to one side of the median. Five Points Drive will be One-Way traffic headed south from Squirrel Road to University. The entrance to Oakland University will be closed for a period. THE BUSINESSES WILL BE OPEN IN THE AFFECTED CONSTRUCTION ZONE.
Detour Route
The detour route will be Walton to Opdyke and Featherstone to Opdyke or vice versa. Please utilize these roads as they do not cut thru residential neighborhoods and are more time efficient.
