Slow Down or Pay Up Speed Enforcement Patrols
Law Enforcement personnel across Washington state will be participating in the Slow Down or Pay Up Speed Enforcement Campaign.
The special statewide effort will run from Sunday, April 11th through Saturday May 1st.
Speeding and driving too fast for road and weather conditions are among the leading causes of traffic crashes, deaths and injuries. The faster you drive the longer it takes you to stop, the greater force will be involved in any collision, the more serious your injuries
will be and the more expensive your traffic ticket will be.
The extra patrols are paid for by a special grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission as part of their Traffic Zero program, which is designed to reduce the number of traffic deaths in our state to zero by the year 2030. Participating enforcement agencies will include: Washington State Patrol, Clallam County Sheriff’s Department, Port Angeles Police Department, and the Sequim Police Department. All drivers are
reminded that safe driving is in their hands.
