Please see the attached document, which advertises our next informational seminar, Gangs 101, which will be held on Thursday, April 15th, 2010. The instructor, Sgt. Edward Bachert (Allentown Police Ret.), was an academy instructor of mine at the Allentown Police Academy. His courses are some of the most well organized, fascinating police seminars I've ever seen. This course is a must for anyone interested in learning the most up to date information on gangs and gang activity.

BLRPD Presents “Gangs 101”

The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department, under the direction of Chief of Police Michael Weiser, is proud to announce that on Thursday, April 15th, the department will present “Gangs 101,” a program that will focus on how gangs such as the Bloods and Crips out of California and People and Folk Nation out of Chicago, influence what occurs in our region. This will include examination of physical signs of gang involvement, such as gang signs, tattoos, and clothing. These gangs and others will be discussed, along with how they operate and the dangers that are present when dealing with these individuals. The course will be taught by Sgt. Edward Bachert (Allentown Police Ret.) of Safe and Secure: Schools and Industries, LLC. Sgt. Bachert, who is currently a Professor of Criminal Justice at St. Joseph’s University, has over 20 years of law enforcement experience, which include time served as a Neighborhood Community Police Officer, Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator, and Allentown Police Academy Instructor.
This course will be held on Thursday, April 15th, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Upper Macungie Township Fire Station 56, located at 6510 Schantz Rd, Upper Macungie Township.
