Stranger Alert
The Rahway Police Department is currently investigating an incident which occurred on Saturday, March 26, 2010 at approximately 9:30 pm in the vicinity of Madison Avenue and Nicholas Place.
Two teenage boys ages 16 and 17 reported while walking in the vicinity of Madison Avenue and Nicholas Place, a Burgundy SUV, 4 door, with no rear license plate visible, pulled next to them and the driver asked for directions to the Rita’s Ice (located at 1111 Westfield Ave, Rahway). After giving the directions, the vehicle continued to follow the youths for a short distance. The driver then asked the youths to get in his vehicle in order to show him how to get to the location. Both boys refused and fled the area. During the incident one youth heard another person in the vehicle laughing, but did not see that person.
Description of Driver/Suspect: White Male, approximately 20-25 years old, with short dirty blonde hair, wire rimmed glasses, unshaven with a heavy build.
Description of Vehicle: Burgundy SUV, 4-door. No rear license plate observed by victims.
Recommended Threat Level: Yellow (Lowest Threat Level)
