Local hot topic: Peavine Trail crossing workshop will be held tonight at City Hall. Watch live on Ch. 13

A continuation of the February Road 39 crossing (on the Peavine Trail) workshop: council had considered whether the crossing in the Granite Dells Estates subdivision should be "at-grade," or with overpasses or underpasses to separate trail users from crossing vehicular traffic.

The city has received a recommendation from Lyon Engineering suggesting Road 39 would not generate enough cross traffic to warrant a "grade-separated" intersection.

Trails advocates have floated the idea of the city applying for a Transportation Enhancement grant to cover the projected cost of a grade seprarated crossing which could approach 600k for design and construction. The group cites the need for preserving the recreational and historical value of the Peavine Trail, site for the former Prescott and Eastern Railroad line.

The meeting will be covered live on local Access 13 at 6 pm and replayed throughout the week. For citizens who do not have access to Channel 13, check the [channel's archives] (http://www.access13.org) or an opportunity to view the meetings "on-demand."
