SUSPECT ARRAIGNED ON FELONY CONCEALED WEAPONS, FELONY FIREARM, AND FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS CHARGES.

On March 15, 2010 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Harper Woods patrol officers investigated a suspicious black Dodge Ram pick-up truck traveling in the area of Kelly Road and Eight Mile. Officers approached the truck and they observed a fully loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun near the driver. Officers arrested the driver for felony weapons violations. Upon a further search of the truck, officers discovered another gun inside the vehicle. The second gun is described as a fully loaded Kel Tec 5.56 MM assault pistol with a 100 round double drum magazine attached to it. Officers also discovered narcotics on the suspect at the time of his arrest.
WILLIAM EUGENE PHILLIPS, 38 years old, Belleville, MI resident, was arraigned in District Court 32 A on March 16, 2010. Phillips is charged with Felony Concealed Weapons, Felony Firearms, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm violations. Phillips is also being charged as a Habitual Offender. His exam will be held March 31, 2010.
