Periods of heavy rain expected late tonight into Friday....a low pressure system located just east of Delaware Thursday afternoon will move northeast tonight and through the Gulf of Maine Friday. The low is expected to bring periods of heavy rain to the watch area later tonight into Friday.

Flood watch in effect from 2 am Friday through Friday Afternoon... The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a flood watch for Belknap County

* From 2 am Friday through Friday afternoon

* Widespread rain is expected in the watch area later tonight into Friday. Rain will be heavy at times...with the potential for totals of 2 to 4 inches.

* The potential exists for flooding on small streams as well as in urban areas. Strong rises are expected on many larger tributaries.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
