Circle Oaks streets to be resurfaced the week of June 8, 2009
Residents asked to avoid driving on streets until slurry dries
(NAPA, Calif.-- ) Residents in the Circle Oaks neighborhood of Napa County should be aware of, and avoid parking or driving on, newly sealed roads the week of June 8, when Circle Oaks Drive, Country Club Drive, Ridgecrest Drive and Ridgecrest Court will be treated with an asphalt sealcoat.
The sealcoat, called slurry seal, prolongs the life of the asphalt, helping to avoid costly street rebuilding in the future.
The contractor will perform the work the week of June 8. Under normal weather conditions, the treated streets should be back in service by 5:00 p.m. Residents can watch for a door hanger that will alert them to the specific day their street is scheduled to be sealed, or can call the contractor at (916) 381-8033 for more information.
What to do
Residents should avoid walking, parking or driving on the seal until it dries. The material is highly adhesive and will stick to shoes, cars and concrete driveways.
Residents may also call the County Public Works department at (707) 253-4351 with questions.
