Grosse Pointe Farms Police have arrested a male & female (husband & wife) for home invasion. Arrest was made while this crime was in progress. Incident occurred in the 400 blk of Roland Court on Tuesday 03/09/10. An alert resident of the neighborhood contacted the police after he had observed a suspicious vehicle and occupants in the area. Police arrived and located a male subject hiding in the attic of the house he had broken into. The female subject was also taken into custody when she was located waiting in a vehicle a few houses down the block. Both subjects were charged with home invasion & habitual offender violations due their lengthy criminal history.

A second home invasion was also reported yesterday by a homeowner who resides on Handy Road near Stanton Lane. This incident occurred sometime between the hours of 9:45am & 1:30pm. Entry was made by the suspect(s) by kicking in the side door of the residence. Several large items were taken from the home. The GPF Detective bureau has ruled out any connection with the previous home invasion on Roland Court but do feel this one might be related to prior recent home invasions that have been occurring throughout the area. Suspect(s) in this incident are believed to be using a large vehicle such as a van or sports utility vehicle. Anyone with information is requested to contact the police department.
