Just before 8pm Wednesday evening, March 3rd, CVPD was called to investigate an attack on a female jogger at McCandliss Park, located at 415 East J St.

While jogging, the victim was ambushed from behind, struck in the head and knocked to the ground. Two suspects punched and kicked her repeatedly. Following the attack the suspects fled into the park, leaving the victim to call for help on her cell phone. Officers arrived within minutes and along with air support from San Diego Police Department's ABLE Unit, conducted a search of the park and nearby canyon with negative results. The female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. The female adult victim stated that she was physically attacked, but not sexually assaulted.
