UPDATED-Bank robbery at 5701 SW 34th. 
At 1:40 PM today, officers were sent to the First Bank Southwest at 5701 SW 34th on a robbery. Bank employees described the suspect was a white or Hispanic male, 5ft. to 5ft. 2 inches tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a white button-down style shirt and blue jeans. He entered the bank already wearing a dark colored ski mask or similar type mask. He approached a female teller and displayed a small handgun and a bag of some type. There is no other information on the bag except that it did not appear to be a paper bag. He demanded and was given an unknown amount of money. He also made contact with one or more other tellers and took money from them. He then left the bank, exiting through the front door.
While officers were at the scene, a witness reported seeing a dark colored Toyota Four-Runner leaving the area of the robbery, south on Atkinsen toward 35th. The vehicle appeared to be leaving the area hurriedly. This is the area directly behind the bank. The witness was able to follow the vehicle long enough to obtain a license plate number. The vehicle was registered out of Pampa. A motorcycle officer looking for the suspect vehicle found it in the in the apartment complex in the 4100 block of SW 45th. It was not occupied. Officers found that the owner of the car had an apartment there. After several attempts to get a response from someone in the apartment, a white male exited the apartment and was detained. The individual remained at the scene and APD Detectives and FBI agents are continuing their investigation.
There were no injuries in the incident.
