Missing/Endangered Child (Paulding County, GA)

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing seven year old last seen January 17, 2010 leaving 1576 Taylors Gin Rd Temple, GA 30179. The child, Joshua Tyler Hoover (“Josh”), is believed to be with his biological father, William Eugene Hoover, who is now wanted in connection with the child’s disappearance.

On January 15, 2010, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office was presented with a valid court order signed by a Carroll County Superior Court judge ordering that custody of the seven year old be given to the biological father. The child was located at 567 Sinyard Cir
Hiram, GA 30141 in Paulding County and released to the biological father, William Eugene Hoover, in compliance with the court order.

The child was seen by family leaving with Hoover from Hoover’s residence in Carroll County on January 17, 2010.

On February 11, 2010 the Carroll County Superior Court issued a court order indicating that Hoover had committed a “fraud against the court” by lying under oath to obtain the original order in January. The court ordered that custody be returned to the grandmother,
Julia Jeorge. The child had been in the custody of the grandmother since November 2009 after the child’s biological mother passed away.

The child, Josh Hoover, is described as follows:
· White male
· 7 years old
· 4 foot 8 inches
· 120 pounds
· Red hair
· Green eyes

The suspect, William Eugene Hoover, is described as follows:
· White male
· 50 years old
· 6 foot 4 inches
· 300 pounds
· Brown hair
The suspect and child may be travelling in a green 2001 Ford Expedition with expired Georgia tag BDU 9044.
Hoover is considered as possibly armed and dangerous by law enforcement. An arrest warrant has been issued for Interstate Interference with Child Custody (Fel). The child has been listed as a “missing/endangered child” and a nationwide lookout has been issued.

It is believed that Hoover has fled the state with the child. Another 14 year old son of Hoover may be travelling with them. It is not known at this time if Hoover is the legal custodian of that child.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hoover or the 7 year old child is asked to contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office at 770-443-3010. Anyone that believes they may have seen the child or Hoover is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
