Far Hills Police Dept STORM ALERT

A SIGNIFICANT AND LONG DURATION SNOW THURSDAY… AS A POWERFUL STORM DEVELOPS OFF THE EAST COAST TONIGHT AND THU SEVERAL ROUNDS OF VERY HEAVY SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA. ALTHOUGH SOME SLEET MAY MIX AT TIMES WITH THE SNOW ON THURSDAY THE PRIMARY PRECIP TYPE WILL BE HEAVY WET SNOW. SNOW WILL BEGIN FALLING AND ACCUMULATING ONCE AGAIN BETWEEN 3-6 A.M. SNOW WILL BE HEAVIEST DURING THE MORNING THU EARLY AFTN THEN PERHAPS LIGHTEN UP A BIT BEFORE RESUMING A HVY INTENSITY AT NIGHT. LOOK FOR 1 - 3 INCHES BY 8 AM. HEAVY WET SNOW COMBINED WITH INCREASINGLY GUSTY (20-40+MPH) WINDS TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL LIKELY PRODUCE CONSIDERABLE POWER OUTAGES AND TREE DAMAGE. ( SNOWFALL TOTALS LESS IF MORE MIXING OCCURS)
