STORM ALERT

A LONG DURATION MAJOR WINTER STORM ON THE WAY… LINGERING CLOUDS TODAY PRODUCE A SPRINKLE OR FLURRY BUT NO THREAT OF ACCUMULATION. A RAPIDLY DEVELOPING STORM THIS EVE ALONG THE EAST COAST WILL SPREAD SNOW INTO THE AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT WITH UP TO 1 - 2 INCHES BY DAYBREAK. PERIODS OF SNOW TOMORROW WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY HEAVY ALTHOUGH THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET AT TIMES MAINLY DURING THE MORNING. STRONG (20-40+MPH) WINDS AND HEAVY WIND SWEPT WET SNOW TOMORROW NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING WILL LIKELY PRODUCE NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES. ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW WILL APPROACH OR EXCEED 12 IN BUT REMAIN DEPENDENT ON THE AMOUNT OF DAYTIME MIXING.
