2010 TAMPA BAY HURRICANE EXPO--The First 72 Are Up To You!

Saturday, May 22

During the first three days after a natural or man-made disaster local government are working hard to re-establish essential services such as power, water and sewer, and will be clearing debris from the streets.

So the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County, in conjunction with the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI), want residents to understand that The First 72 Are Up To You!

That is the theme for the 2010 Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo to be held on Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MOSI.

The theme means residents should be prepared to provide for themselves for up to first 72 hours after a storm.

Admission to the Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo is FREE!

Seminars from local and national experts will focus the theme - The First 72 Are Up To You! - and on the importance of preparing your family and home long before the first hurricane warning is issued.

There will also be a special 72-Hour Readiness exhibit to demonstrate how much water and food is really needed for a family of four during The First 72.

In addition, Hurricane Expo guests can enjoy MOSI exhibit galleries and one standard IMAX® Dome Theatre* film for only $8 per person (children under 2 admitted FREE)! *Special exhibitions and special engagement films not included.
