The Green Bay Police Department has arrested a 77-year-old Green Bay man suspected of wielding a knife and allegedly injuring two people during an incident on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, on the city’s east side.

Officers were dispatched just before 5:30 p.m. to the 2100 block of Basten Street, near Danz Park, in response to a report of a person armed with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old man and a 56-year-old man, both from Green Bay, who reported non-life-threatening injuries. They told police that the suspect had fled into a nearby wooded area in possession of multiple weapons.

In response, the Green Bay Police Department deployed its SWAT team, K9 Unit, and Crisis Negotiation Team to assist at the scene. Additional support was provided by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and Appleton Police Department.

Just before 8:00 p.m., the suspect was located following an attempt to flee officers and taken into custody near N. Danz Avenue and Basten Street.

Streets in the area that had been temporarily closed have since been reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing. No further details are available at this time.

Officers were called out for a weapon call on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m., and remain on scene. Police are actively seeking one suspect.

Multiple streets in the immediate area have been temporarily closed at this time, which include portions of Basten Street, Morrow Street, and N. Danz Avenue.
