Shots Fired Incident Leads to Arrest

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Janesville Police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Milton Avenue after witnesses reported possible shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim who reported that while sitting inside her parked vehicle, she became involved in a domestic-related argument with a male subject, later identified as Daniel Cordova. During the incident, Cordova displayed a firearm and fired a shot inside the vehicle. At the time, two children were seated in the backseat. Thankfully, no one was injured. Cordova then exited the vehicle and was picked up by another individual before officers arrived. Witnesses confirmed seeing Cordova leave the area.
Mutual aid was requested from the City of Delavan Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office to assist in locating him. At approximately 4:45 a.m., Cordova was taken into custody in the 1800 block of South Shore Drive in Delavan, Wisconsin.
Further investigation revealed that Cordova had visited a residence in the 500 block of Cross Street in Clinton before his arrest and had switched vehicles. With assistance from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed at that location at approximately 12:30 p.m. A small amount of illegal narcotics was seized during the search warrant.
Following the investigation, Cordova was arrested for:
1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety / Domestic Violence (two counts)
1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Disorderly Conduct while Armed / Domestic Violence
Probation Violation
Cordova was transported to the Rock County Jail, where he awaits his initial court appearance. This remains an ongoing investigation, and additional charges are pending.
